COMMUNICATION
Although Tanzania has a limited system of landline phones, mobile phones and internet are generally that way to go. In areas with no mobile phone connections, satellite phones can be an outcome in case of emergencies (and the Asilia’s lodges & camps that are outside of mobile phone reach are equipped with one for emergencies). Telephone charges can be expensive from lodges. Satellite phone are available for hire on request on no less than 1 week’s notice. The charges on average are $15 per day paid in advance and $3.99 per minute which will be charged as an “extra” – please contact your travel agent for more information
